چکیده

The Root nodules of Cajanus Cajan plant produced high amount of (35.56 ug/gm) of Indole acetic acid from Hg plants as compared to the N plant. The IAA was measured maximum from Rhizobium spp. of C.cajan plant at 24h, when the bacteria reached the stationary phase of growth. Mannitol & KNO3 preferred to be a good carbon and nitrogen source for IAA production in all N, Ng, H & Hg Rhizobium strains. The possible relationship between the rhizobial IAA production & legume rhizobia symbioses in relation to stress is discussed.

Plant-nematode interactions: environmental signals detected by the nematode's chemosensory organs control changes in the surface cuticle and behaviour.

Plant parasitic nematodes have developed the capacity to sense and respond to chemical signals of host origin and the ability to orientate towards plant roots enhances the nematode's chance of survival. Root exudates contain a range of compounds which mediate belowground interactions with pathogenic and beneficial soil organisms. Chemical components of root exudates may deter one organism while...

Pathways of Electrochemical Oxidation of Indolic Compounds

The electrochemical behaviour of indole and a group of indole-containing compounds with a substituent at the C3 position, indol-3-acetamide (IAM), tryptamine, gramine, indole acetic acid (IAA), indole propionic acid (IPA), indole butyric acid (IBA) and tryptophan, was investigated at a glassy carbon electrode, in order to determine their oxidation pathways. Indole undergoes one irreversible pH ...

Effects of heavy metals on plant-associated rhizobacteria: comparison of endophytic and non-endophytic strains of Azospirillum brasilense.

The plant-associated nitrogen-fixing rhizobacterium Azospirillum brasilense attracts world-wide attention owing to its plant growth-promoting activities. Among hundreds of its strains known up to date, wild-type strain Sp245 has been proved to be capable of colonising both the plant-root interior and exterior (i.e. a facultative endophyte), whereas others are non-endophytes colonising the root ...

Integrated management strategies for tomato Fusarium wilt.

Fusarium wilt is caused by the fungal pathogens, Fusarium oxysporum or Fusarium solani. It is a devastating disease that affects many important food and vegetable crops and a major source of loss to farmers worldwide. Initial strategies developed to combat this devastating plant disease include the use of cultural, physical and chemical control. None of these strategies have been able to give t...

Onset of in vitro rhizogenesis response and peroxidase activity in Zingiber officinale (Zingiberaceae).

The induction of rooting in microshoots of Zingiber officinale cvs. Suprava, Turia local, Suruchi and V3S18 was achieved on half-strength basal Murashige and Skoog's medium supplemented with 0.5-1.0 mg/l either indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) or indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and 2% (w/v) sucrose within 7-9 days of culture. Rooting was inhibited when the microshoots were cultured under higher concentra...
